Membership, What's Happening|

September’s member highlight is Dave Buttner. Dave is an avid cycler hailing from Port Hueneme and is gearing up to support the 2018 Arthritis Bike Classic– California Coast Classic. Dave’s favorite local stretch of road is, “from Mugu Rock to Neptune’s Net; there is nothing like the ocean on one side and mountains on the other!”  Dave is a regular bike commuter averaging 2-3 days/week, 5 miles/day. His must-haves include a “front-white blinking light, a rear-red blinking light, helmet, cleats, and a vest.” He is a strong believer in being predictable while on the roadway.

Dave is participating for his 9th year in the California Coast Classic! This year is different from years prior, he’ll be driving and managing the supply truck. Dave participates in the Arthritis Bike Classic as someone who is impacted by the disease. He has arthritis and his father passed away from arthritis disease-related complications. In fact, arthritis is the leading cause of disability in the US! Dave finds riding his bike (and overall activity) keep his Arthritis related pain at bay. Learn more and support the California Coast Classic here!
