Sometimes you just need a truck...
As Bikeventura’s operations grow throughout Ventura County, the need for a quick and easy way to get several bikes at a time to different places becomes more apparent each day. We’ve had the luck of one of our most awesome supporters, Nina Danza, to drive scrapped bikes from the Transfer Center in Goleta to our HQ at least once a month in her Chevy S10. As much as we’d rather see everyone on a bike when they’re out on the road, we can’t deny that a truck is essential for success.
While we seek out a truck of our own, American Trucks is offering grant funding to non-profits that use American made trucks for their programming:
“The Positive Payload Program is designed to benefit non-profit charitable organizations who use and rely on pickup trucks to better their community. Anyone who works with or volunteers for a charity that uses Ford F-150s, Chevrolet Silverados, GMC Sierras, or Dodge Rams is welcome to apply for a $2,000 donation to the charity they are involved with. The person who nominates the selected charity will be awarded $200 (via mailed check) and an AmericanTrucks t-shirt. “
