Did you know there is a lighthouse in Ventura County? Ride your bike there! Port Hueneme lighthouse has a long storied past and the one standing today was built after WWII. Three segments can get you there in a total of 9 mi (one way). Or hop in partway for a shorter ride. Just be sure to go early in the day and avoid onshore breeze headwinds!
If you have a great place to ride, tell us about it at destinations@bikeventura.org. Include distance, map, description, a couple pictures.
Segment 1: Collection Shopping to Oxnard Performing Arts Center 4.5 mi, paved on street lane.
It’s a little hairy getting away from traffic out of the Collection but once on Ventura Road it’s an easy ride to Vineyard and then down J street the rest of the way.
